Pack Activity - Saturday 9/17 10 AM, Blue Hills Hike
An annual favorite of ours is the Blue Hills Family hike!  Meet at the Trailside Museum parking lot so we can hike together as a group.  Please dress for the weather (no uniforms necessary) and wear appropriate footwear (no flip flops, no cleats for those of you who might be coming from sports). Remember sunscreen/bug spray.  Bring water bottles and snacks as we will stop for a break at the top. As always, our pack activities are open to the whole family. Have a friend who'd like to join scouts? Bring them along!

NEW PARENT ORIENTATION/Planning Meeting- MONDAY 10/3, 7:00 PM St. Mary's Rose Garden

This meeting is MANDATORY for anyone who is new to the Pack, Tiger parents as well as any other parent whose child has newly joined the pack at any other grade.  We will be forming new dens, placing new scouts into existing dens, and answering any questions you may have.  This meeting is for Adults Only, it is NOT necessary to bring your child.  Any parent that cannot attend, please send another responsible adult who knows your schedule and will be responsible for your son's den placement.  All leaders and other parents are also welcome to attend to discuss upcoming pack events/activities. Some topics for discussion will be the state of our popcorn fundraising campaign and upcoming scouting activities. We love to hear new ideas!  This is an adult planning meeting, scouts need not attend.

Pack Meeting - Thursday 10/20, 6:30 PM **Normandy Farms Campground**
The October Pack Meeting is always a favorite as we meet outdoors (weather permitting) for a special Campfire Pack Meeting. We will enjoy songs, skits, s'mores and the great outdoors!  **Uniforms are not necessary for this meeting as the boys sometimes lose pins/slides from their uniforms and they are impossible to find in the dark!  Dress appropriately for the weather, bring lanterns or flashlights.  The Pack will provide all the fixings for s'mores - any scouts with food allergies/sensitivities/restrictions are welcome to bring their own snacks.  Normandy Farms is located at 72 West Street, Foxboro, MA.
**In case of inclement weather, we will hold a pack meeting with a revised program at the Robinson, same date & time.

Pack Activity - Pumpkins in the Park, Bird Park, Walpole, Saturday 10/29, 5 PM - 7 PM
*This is a public event and is not exclusive to Pack 7, but we thought it would be a fun event to attend together! As always, family and friends are always welcome! This event is FREE for all!
From the Bird Park website:
Families and people of all ages are invited to come and celebrate Halloween with our favorite family event: Pumpkins in the Park! Carvers of all ages are welcomed to submit a pumpkin to the event. Pumpkins will be judged in several different categories by guest judges.  Each winner will receive a ribbon and a prize, as well as have their picture taken with their pumpkin on the pumpkin podium. In addition to the pumpkins, there will be games for children to play, a storyteller telling ghost stories, candy, music, a "spooky" walk, and more! Costumes are greatly encouraged for all.

Pack Activity - Mansfield Veteran's Day Parade, Friday 11/11, Time: 10 AM
It is our each year to support and honor the veterans in our community by marching in the Veteran's Day Parade.  The Parade begins at the North Common, runs the length of Main Street and ends at the South Common.  A ceremony and community social gathering will follow on the South Common after the parade. Full Class-A uniforms should be worn, but please also dress appropriately for the weather (footwear, jackets, gloves, etc.).  Pack 7 will assemble in the parking lot of 214 Rumford Avenue (across the bridge from the Train Station) at 9:45 am.  Please plan to have 1 responsible adult remain with your child until the parade starts.
**IN CASE OF RAIN: A ceremony will be held inside the MHS gymnasium at 11 AM, and participants will meet in the auditorium at 10:30 AM.

Pack Meeting - Thursday 11/17, 6:30 PM Robinson School Cafeteria
November features one of our favorite pack meetings of the year - The Bobcat Ceremony.  The first rank every scout must attain, regardless of the age they join scouts, is the rank of Bobcat.  All scouts that are new to scouting this year will receive their Bobcat badge at this very special ceremony.  Please invite the family and bring a camera! Participation by a parent or other special adult is required for each scout.  This is a pack meeting you don't want to miss! Scouts should wear full class A uniform.
Den leaders will help prepare the boys for earning the Bobcat badge. You can also work on it at home following the scouts handbook for your rank (all handbooks contain a section on Bobcat).

Pack Activity - Mansfield Holiday Parade, Sunday 11/27, Time: TBD
Each year Pack 7, along with other Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, civic organizations and local business men and women - not to mention Santa Claus himself! - march in the Mansfield Holiday Parade! We even have a float in the parade!  Scouts should wear full class A uniforms, dress appropriately for the weather, and may wear holiday hats/antlers or otherwise embellish their attire in a festive way. Scouts may also toss candy to the crowd as part of the fun atmosphere of this parade (the pack does not provide the candy, so save all your Halloween leftovers!).
